Main Duties and Responsibilities
Performing pre-operation (and post-operation) inspections: checking fluid levels, hydraulic lines, tracks/undercarriage, bucket teeth, controls, and overall condition.
Selecting, attaching, and using different implements (buckets, hammers, grapples, augers, thumbs, etc.).
Reading and following site plans, blueprints, grade stakes, GPS/machine-control systems, or verbal instructions from supervisors.
Excavating foundations, trenches, ponds, and subgrades; grading and sloping material accurately.
Loading trucks or haulers, backfilling, demolishing structures, clearing sites, and moving materials.
