Pharmacist

Key responsibilities:

Accurately dispense prescription medications and verify prescriptions for appropriateness (dose, interactions, allergies).
Counsel patients on medication use, adverse effects, adherence, and storage.
Perform medication reconciliation and clinical medication reviews (MTM).
Participate in clinical rounds with physicians and other care team members (hospital/clinic roles).
Order, manage, and control pharmacy inventory; ensure secure storage and handling (including controlled substances).
Document interventions, maintain patient records, and comply with HIPAA/privacy rules.
Ensure compliance with national/state pharmacy laws, DEA regulations, and institutional policies.

Required education & attributes includes; Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), Clinical knowledge of pharmacotherapy, pharmacokinetics, and drug interactions.
Attention to detail and strong numeracy.
Patient communication and counseling skills.
Interprofessional collaboration and clinical decision-making.
Time management and ability to work under pressure.
Technical skills: pharmacy information systems, electronic health records, drug databases.
Leadership & supervisory skills for managerial roles.
