Job summary
Manage inventory of linens, chemicals, parts and supplies; reorder to maintain stock levels and control costs.
Monitor and control chemical usage and follow safety/data sheet (SDS) procedures.
Perform or coordinate routine equipment maintenance and arrange repairs; track equipment uptime.
Train staff on procedures, safety, infection control (where applicable), and machine operation.
Enforce workplace safety, regulatory compliance (e.g., OSHA, infection control for healthcare); maintain records and logs.
Maintain production records and prepare reports on throughput, costs, and loss/damage.
Coordinate with housekeeping, nursing, kitchen, or external customers for timely delivery and issue resolution.
Implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce waste.
Qualifications/skills
High school Diploma or equivalent, Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Attention to detail and quality focus.
Basic mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting machines.
Recordkeeping and basic computer literacy (scheduling, spreadsheets).
Good communication and customer-service orientation.
