Excavator Operator

Key responsibilities / duties:

Read and follow site plans, grade stakes, and survey points; execute work to specified depths and slopes.
Perform pre- and post-shift machine inspections (fluid levels, hoses, tracks/wheels, controls).
Maintain and service equipment: refuelling, greasing, minor adjustments; report larger defects.
Coordinate with spotters, ground crews, and other machine operators; communicate via radio/hand signals.
Protect utilities and existing structures by following locate marks and safe digging practices.
Keep accurate time/equipment logs and material movement records as required.
Adhere to site safety plans and company procedures; participate in safety meetings.
Assist with rigging, lifting, and placing materials as required.
