Core responsibilities:
Create and maintain inspection records, lot traceability, and quality documentation.
Report defects, generate nonconformance reports (NCRs), and escalate critical issues.
Support root-cause analysis (5 Whys, fishbone) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
Perform first-article inspections (FAI), sampling inspections (AQL), and lot releases.
Run and interpret statistical process control (SPC) charts; notify process owners of trends.
Participate in internal and external audits; help implement corrective actions.
Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment or coordinate calibration schedule.
Work with production, engineering, and supply chain to prevent recurring defects.
Required qualifications and skills
High school diploma or equivalent, Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) — preferred in precision industries.
Test equipment specific to product (electrical testers, hardness testers, etc.).
Software: SPC tools (Minitab, Quality Companion), LIMS, ERP (SAP, Oracle), Excel (pivot tables), digital inspection apps.
Documentation: experience with inspection plans, FAI, AQL sampling tables, control plans, SOPs.
