Key responsibilities:
Monitor drilling operations (ROP, torque, vibrations, mud properties); troubleshoot problems (stuck pipe, kicks, lost circulation).
Implement well-control procedures and maintain regulatory/compliance reporting.
Optimize drilling performance: reduce non-productive time (NPT), improve efficiency and cost.
Coordinate with reservoir, production, completions, geology and logistics teams.
Evaluate and report drilling data; handover well to completions/production teams.
Apply well integrity and long-term reliability principles.
Required education & skills
Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical or Mining Engineering (or equivalent), Well design, casing & cementing design, directional drilling fundamentals.
Drilling fluids & hydraulics, formation evaluation basics.
Drilling optimization and NPT reduction techniques, Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Clear communication and teamwork across disciplines and with contractors.
Decision-making under pressure; attention to safety and compliance.
