Role summary
Design controllers (PID, LQR/LQG, H∞, MPC, adaptive, observer/estimator designs).
Simulate and analyze system behavior using MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or equivalent.
Implement control code on target platforms: PLCs, embedded microcontrollers (C/C++), RTOS, dSPACE, NI hardware.
Integrate sensors, actuators, motor drives, and communication buses (CAN, EtherCAT, Modbus).
Perform tuning, commissioning, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing.
Validate performance against requirements and standards; write test plans and reports.
Produce design documentation, requirements traceability, and user/operator manuals.
Required qualifications & skills
B.S. in Electrical, Control, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Simulation & modeling: MATLAB/Simulink, Simscape, Python (NumPy/SciPy), Modelica (nice-to-have).
Embedded/real-time implementation: C/C++, RTOS, AUTOSAR (automotive), Simulink Coder, dSPACE, NI VeriStand.
PLCs & industrial automation: Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens (S7/TIA), ladder/structured text.
HIL/SIL: dSPACE, OPAL-RT, National Instruments.
Instrumentation & data acquisition: DAQ systems, sensors (encoders, IMUs, load cells), ADC/DAC.
