Core responsibilities:
Maintain, calibrate and troubleshoot instrumentation, control panels, PLCs and SCADA/DCS interfaces (as required).
Perform motor rewinds, alignment checks, insulation resistance and earth continuity tests.
Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM), shutdowns and isolations in compliance with Permit-to-Work (PTW) procedures.
Execute safe cable jointing, gland installation and hazardous-area terminations (Ex/ATEX/IECEx requirements where applicable).
Keep accurate maintenance records, logbooks, test certificates, and report hazards or defects.
Participate in emergency response, firefighting and rescue duties as required by the platform/vessel.
Mentor junior electricians and liaise with technical leads, engineers and HSE.
Required qualifications & skills: Formal electrical qualification: trade certificate / vocational diploma / journeyman electrician / NVQ Level 3, or equivalent recognized local qualification, Strong knowledge of AC/DC electrical theory, single- and three-phase systems.
Competent using multimeter, insulation tester (megger), earth fault loop tester, power quality analyzer, thermal imaging, oscilloscope.
Experience with low- and medium-voltage switchgear, MCCs, protection relays, motor controls, VFDs and generator sets.
Wiring, cable jointing, tray and conduit work, and cable pulling in marine environments.
Familiarity with PLCs, ladder logic, HMI and basic SCADA integration.
