Janitor

Core responsibilities / duties

Empty, sort, and remove trash and recycling; replace liners.
Clean windows, glass doors, mirrors, and fixtures.
Maintain floors: sweep, mop, scrub, strip/wax, buff, and vacuum as required.
Perform minor maintenance tasks (change lightbulbs, replace faucet aerators, tighten fixtures) and report major repair needs.
Replenish supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper, sanitizer) and notify supervisor when stock is low.
Set up and break down furniture for events; move light furniture safely.
Follow safety procedures for handling cleaning chemicals and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
Lock/unlock doors and secure premises according to procedures (if required).
Keep cleaning equipment in good working order and report malfunctions.
