Offshore Electrician

Key responsibilities:

Carry out installation, commissioning, preventive and corrective maintenance on low-, medium- and (where applicable) high-voltage electrical systems.
Diagnose and repair motors, generators, switchgear, transformers, distribution panels, MCCs, control circuits and cabling.
Maintain and troubleshoot PLCs, instrumentation interfaces, motor control centers and power distribution systems in cooperation with instrumentation/controls teams.
Execute isolation, lockout-tagout (LOTO), and Permit-to-Work (PTW) procedures before electrical work.
Inspect and test electrical installations using appropriate test equipment; record results and create/maintain accurate maintenance reports and logbooks.
Support planned shutdowns and turnarounds; perform commissioning and start-up tasks.

Required qualifications & skills includes;  Offshore-specific safety training: BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training) including HUET where applicable, Proven experience working offshore or in industrial heavy electrical environments (typical 2–5+ years offshore experience depending on level).
Strong understanding of AC/DC distribution, power transformers, protection relays and switchgear.
Experience with PLC systems, motor control, and basic ladder logic troubleshooting.
Proficiency with electrical test equipment: multimeter, clamp meter, megger/insulation tester, hipot tester, phase rotation meter.
Ability to read and work from electrical drawings, single-line diagrams and P&IDs.
