Primary responsibilities:
Evaluate patients with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, trauma, ADHD, substance use disorders, and more
Diagnose mental health conditions through interviews, medical history, and sometimes psychological testing
Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications such as antidepressants, mood stabilizers, antipsychotics, and stimulants
Provide psychotherapy or coordinate therapy with psychologists and counselors
Create treatment plans and monitor progress over time.
