Key responsibilities / duties:
Operate assigned crane(s) safely and efficiently (set up, inspect, operate, and shut down).
Read and interpret lift plans, rigging diagrams, load charts, and site plans.
Determine proper rigging and sling configuration; select and inspect rigging hardware.
Communicate with signal person/rigger using hand signals, radios, or other agreed methods.
Perform pre- and post-shift equipment inspections, report defects, and tag out unsafe equipment.
Assist in crane assembly/disassembly and move-on/move-off operations (for mobile and lattice cranes).
Record load weights, lift logs, and shift reports; follow lift procedures for critical lifts.
Follow site safety procedures, participate in toolbox talks, and comply with relevant regulations.
Maintain basic housekeeping around crane and support equipment.
Core skills & attributes
Strong knowledge of crane controls, hydraulics, and load charts.
Attention to detail and strong spatial awareness.
Good communication and teamwork.
Calm under pressure and good decision-making.
Physical stamina and dexterity.
