Installs, inspects, maintains, and repairs electrical systems and equipment in industrial facilities (factories, plants, warehouses). Focus on power distribution, motor controls, control panels, PLCs, and preventive maintenance to keep production running safely and reliably.
Key responsibilities:
Install, wire, and terminate motors, motor control centers (MCCs), panels, switchgear, conduit, and raceways.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults on 120V–15kV systems (as applicable for site).
Maintain and program industrial control systems: PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and relays.
Perform preventive maintenance and testing (insulation resistance, motor tests, thermal scans).
Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, single-line diagrams, and wiring diagrams.
Execute lockout/tagout, isolation, and safe work permits; follow NFPA 70E and site safety procedures.
Document work: maintenance logs, test reports, change records, and work orders.
Required qualifications & skills
High school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma or vocational training, Strong troubleshooting skills with power, control circuits, and instrumentation.
Ability to read and modify electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
Basic programming/logic understanding for PLC ladder/function block programming.
Comfortable using test equipment: multimeter, clamp meter, megohmmeter, oscilloscope, thermal camera.
Good mechanical aptitude and ability to work on ladders, catwalks, and elevated platforms.
Effective communication, teamwork, and documentation skills.
