Key Duties and Responsibilities
Review medical history, referrals, and notes from doctors or other providers.
Assess patients through observation, tests of strength, range of motion, balance, gait, posture, and functional abilities; listen to patient concerns.
Diagnose movement dysfunctions and develop individualized treatment plans with clear goals (e.g., return to sport, walk independently, reduce pain).
Deliver hands-on treatments: therapeutic exercises, joint mobilization, soft-tissue techniques, neuromuscular re-education, functional training, and use of equipment or modalities.
Educate patients and caregivers on home exercises, injury prevention, ergonomics, and self-management.
