Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including interviews, medical and social histories, mental status exams, and psychological testing.
Diagnose conditions using frameworks like the DSM-5-TR (e.g., depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, PTSD, substance use disorders, personality disorders).
Develop individualized treatment plans that may combine psychotherapy (e.g., CBT, psychoanalysis), medications (antidepressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers), psychosocial interventions, and other therapies.
Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitoring efficacy, side effects, and adjusting dosages.
Provide counseling, psychoeducation, and ongoing monitoring of patient progress.
