Primary responsibilities:
Design drilling programs for wells
Select drill bits, casing, mud systems, and drilling fluids
Plan well trajectories and directional drilling strategy
Monitor drilling performance and troubleshoot problems like stuck pipe, lost circulation, kicks, or wellbore instability
Work with rig teams, geologists, mud engineers, completion engineers, and contractors
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) rules
Control drilling costs and optimize operation efficiency.
