Job from Friends
Discover Job Opportunities Through Shared Information
Not every job opportunity becomes visible on a public job board immediately. Sometimes, information about a potential vacancy reaches someone before the position is widely advertised.
Job from Friends is a BrentJobs initiative designed to help people share useful job leads and help job seekers discover potential employment opportunities they might otherwise miss.
The idea is simple: useful information can travel through people, not just through websites. By providing a way to submit and review job leads, we aim to make this information more accessible to people looking for work.
How Does Job from Friends Work?
1. Someone Shares Information About a Potential Job
A person who learns about a potential vacancy can submit the information through our Job from Friends submission page.
The information may relate to an opportunity that has not yet been widely advertised. However, submission does not automatically mean that a vacancy is confirmed or that it will be published.
2. BrentJobs Reviews the Information
Our team reviews the submitted information before deciding whether to approve it for publication.
Where appropriate, we check whether the vacancy is already listed on the employer’s website or elsewhere. If we cannot find sufficient information, we may contact the employer to seek confirmation.
If we cannot obtain sufficient confirmation, we do not approve the listing for publication.
This is a preliminary verification process. It helps us assess the information available to us, but it cannot eliminate every risk or guarantee that all details will remain accurate.
3. Job Seekers Request Access
To help protect listing content from unauthorized copying and republication, some Job from Friends listings are available through a password-protected section.
Access is free and can be requested by contacting our live chat support team.
Before providing access, a member of our support team conducts a preliminary assessment to understand whether the person requesting access is genuinely looking for work. This may include questions about the person’s job search, the types of positions they are interested in, and their application documents.
The purpose is to help protect the program and its content. A person does not have to purchase a CV, cover letter, or any other service to receive access.
4. Applicants Follow the Employer’s Instructions
The employer’s name, website, or other available contact information may be provided in the listing. Applicants should carefully review the information and follow the application instructions.
BrentJobs is a job-information platform, not the employer. Employers make their own recruitment decisions, and we cannot guarantee that a vacancy remains available or that any applicant will receive a response, interview, or job offer.
Why Job from Friends?
Traditional job boards mainly show vacancies that have already been published. Job from Friends offers an additional way to discover potential opportunities through information shared by other people.
The program is built around three practical principles:
- Sharing useful information: A job lead may help someone discover an opportunity they would not otherwise have found.
- Preliminary review: Submitted information is assessed before a listing is approved for publication.
- Accessible job information: Requesting access to the password-protected section is free.
We believe that sharing useful information can complement traditional job searching. Job from Friends is an additional source of leads, not a replacement for checking employers and vacancies independently.
About Thank-You Gifts and Job Leads
People who share useful job leads may sometimes receive a voluntary thank-you gift or other appreciation.
Any such arrangement is separate from the recruitment process. It does not guarantee that a candidate will be referred, interviewed, hired, or offered any particular employment opportunity.
Never pay anyone in exchange for a promise of employment. If, after starting work and receiving your first paycheck, you choose to offer a voluntary thank-you gift to someone who shared a useful job lead, that is a separate personal decision. Such a gift must not be treated as a condition of employment or as a guarantee of any job-related outcome.
Are Professional Application Documents Required?
No. Access to Job from Friends listings is free, and purchasing professional application documents is not a condition for receiving access.
During a support conversation, we may discuss whether your CV and other application documents are suitable for the positions you are seeking. Where appropriate, we may inform you about optional CV preparation and other application-document services offered by our partners.
You are free to decide whether to use these services. Choosing not to purchase them does not, by itself, make you ineligible for access.
Professional documents may help present your qualifications clearly, but no CV or application service can guarantee an interview or employment.
Important Information for Job Seekers
Before applying for any vacancy, we encourage you to:
- Check the employer’s website and available contact details.
- Read the job description and application requirements carefully.
- Make sure the position is appropriate for your qualifications and work authorization.
- Be cautious if anyone asks you to pay money in exchange for a guaranteed job, interview, visa, or employment contract.
- Report listings that appear inaccurate, misleading, fraudulent, or otherwise suspicious.
Although we review submitted information, vacancies may change, be filled, or be withdrawn. Applicants should independently assess relevant details before sharing personal information or making decisions.

Our Commitment
Job from Friends reflects our belief that useful employment information should be shared responsibly and made accessible to people who may benefit from it.
We aim to review submitted information, explain the limits of our verification process, and provide clear information about access and optional services.
We cannot promise a job. What we can do is offer another way to discover potential opportunities and help job seekers make more informed decisions.
